About Us                    Victoria Price A.T.C.L, D.D.I

Hello, Welcome to the Dance For Sure Website, I am Miss Victoria and I am the principal of the School.

Dance For Sure & Performing Arts was set up in September 2011 under the name Dance 4 Stage, starting with only 8 students. We have now expanded and changed our name and run classes from our lovely studio on Bristol Road, Gloucester.

I became a teaching assistant at the age of 13 for my dance teacher Mrs Jackie Shewell-Thomas and at the age of 15 I was teaching classes alone in a room beside her. I have always coped well in looking after children and in engaging their concentration. I believe that dance is a discipline that should be enjoyed.

I received a Ballet Scholarship in London at the British Ballet Organisation in November 2007 and was taught by ex prima-ballerina Miss Brenda Last for five years and I have a recognised qualification with the Trinity College London.

I find it a pleasure to teach a group of such wonderful children that I have at Dance For Sure and we highly encourage the boys as much as the girls. I teach and treat all of my students with equal respect and to a high standard. We are one big family and don't except bullying or arrogance from any child, we should all be friendly and help and support each other. We welcome all new students with open arms to make them feel comfortable and happy.

I have taken many examinations in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Ballroom to Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 level receiving high marks from them. I have also won many awards, medals and trophies. I performed at Her Majesties Theatre in London at the age of 9 and have performed with the Russian Ballet on 2 occassions. I was approached by a company call Artshape (linked with Adult Education) who run courses for adults with disabling barriers and have worked as one of the tutors delivering dance and movement courses.

I have always been focused and dedicated to the commitments of dance and I will continue to pass my knowledge and understanding of dance on to those younger than me that also have a passion to perform the same as I.

I am I.S.T.D and B.B.O trained and I am able to teach all genres of dance at my school.

Rules and Regulations

ENROLEMENT OF NEW PUPIL – Your first 4 weeks lessons with us are FREE, this however is the first 4 consecutive weeks, which starts from the first one that you attend. The registration form needs to be handed in by the second week of your trial. Payment will then begin from the week after your trial finishes.

PAYMENT OF FEES – All fees are paid monthly and in advance. They are non-refundable and need to be in and cleared by the 1st of the month. If this is not followed then it will occur in you receiving a late fee of 10% each week it is late and may also result in your child being suspended until payments are up to date. (Invoices)

UNIFORM - Regulation uniform should be worn in all classes. See our uniform list. Uniform should be ordered through Miss Victoria – please ring 07919307837 or email missvictoria@danceforsure.co.uk this will ensure your child has the correct uniform for their class.

HAIR - Hair must be in a bun at all times Buns are compulsory from Primary upwards. Jewellery must not be worn – this includes watches.

PUNCTUALITY - So as not to effect the enjoyment of other students we ask that you ensure that you arrive in plenty of time for your class. Students need to arrive in time to get dressed into the correct uniform and to be prepared.

BEHAVIOUR - We believe that students should show mutual respect for each other and for their teacher and poor behaviour will not be allowed. Dancing is fun and to be enjoyed by all so we ask each and every student to abide by this simple philosophy at all times.

The Academy is not responsible for any child except for during their class times. Pupils must wait to be collected inside and must not leave the premises alone.

Please try and ensure that your child has visited the toilet before class, as trips to the toilets during class time cannot always be supervised & are disruptive to the running of the class.

CORRECTION OF PUPILS – Dancing uses major muscle groups, you can expect your child's body to develop in different ways to which they have been. This is completely natural and healthy, and will benefit your child enormously. To ensure these muscle groups are used and worked properly, your child’s teacher may from time to time have to use physical contact to get students into the correct stance for example. We aim to make these corrections with due care and respect for dignity, these corrections must be made as part of class training, if you have a problem or would like to know more please talk to your child’s teacher. This will ensure injury does not occur and muscles develop correctly. Although every care is taken during class, the school can take no responsibility for any injuries that may occur.

VALUABLES - Valuables such as purses and watches must not be left unattended, as the school cannot accept responsibility for any losses incurred. Mobile phones may be brought into class for security, but must be turned off during class.

WITHDRAWEL FROM THE SCHOOL - Classes can only be terminated by giving 1 month notice in writing by parents wishing to withdraw a pupil from the school (or discontinuance of an extra subject).  Should any pupil be withdrawn without such notice being given, it is part of the contract that the parents shall pay 1 month fees for such withdrawal, in addition to the fees for the current month

PERFORMANCE OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL – Whilst we expect our students to gain the most experience and enjoyment from dance we do expect loyalty to the dance school and we encourage you to discuss any other outside dance classes & performances you may be planning with your teacher.
